Questions About Documentation and Versions

Postby aaronmajor » Thu Mar 03, 2011 12:32 am

I just took over a project where the previous developer was using this library. I am not familiar with Krypton other than what I have read on the site. Can someone please forward me the documentation for this library and advise me on the quickest way to locate the version number of the library that I have so that I can determine whether or not we need to update? I am still trying to find out if we have an active subscription which would allow me to update the library but, I'd like to know what version I presently have. Unfortunately, we are not able to get in touch with the developer that is no longer employed. I apologize if this question has already been answered and will admit that the majority of my ten years of development has been in Java with a few C# projects here and there.

If Krypton is already installed then it is very easy. Use the Control Panel selected the option to uninstall. Then check the list of applications that are available for uninstall and look for Krypton. If present it will include the version number. Obviously then use Cancel so you do not actually uninstall it! Alternatively you can search your machine for the ComponentFactory.Krypton.Toolkit.dll assembly. Just right click the file and select Properties. The version number of Krypton is the same as the version number it reports in the properties.

If not already installed then do so and then run the Krypton Explorer that is put onto your desktop. Goto the Resources tab and use the Documentation link.
