Ribbon and Navigator License

Postby WebSamurai » Mon Apr 23, 2007 12:53 pm

I recently installed Krypton release 2.5.0 and then 2.5.1.
I have an error message telling me that the application was created using an unlicensed version of Krypton Navigator and a second message for Krypton Ribbon.

I entered the correct license key and the two files :
- ComponentFactory.Krypton.Ribbon.KryptonRibbon.lic
- ComponentFactory.Krypton.Navigator.KryptonNavigator.lic
were created in the Krypron assembly directory containing the key.

Do i have to do anything else ?
I did not get that error on previous version of krypton 2.4.1.

Thanks
Patrick

Looks like you're having the same issue as me - http://www.componentfactory.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=369. Perhaps keep an eye on that, too?

Once you have entered your license keys you should then be able to perform a full build and it should work correctly. Maybe check the .licx file that is part of your application to ensure it is referencing the correct version number. If it still has 2.4.1 or something then you need to change it to be 2.5.1. Let mw know how you get on.

Hi,

I deleted all the .lic files for krypton and reinstalled release 2.5.1
Still have the popup message for unlicensed version of Krypton Ribbon.

I set also the date 31 days forward and rebuilt the solution.
No succes so far.

Thanks
Pat

Did you remove all the versions of the ComponentFactory assemblies that were lying around when you also removed the .lic files.

Also, now that you have removed all the .lic files does it ask your to enter the license keys? It should have asked you again once they were deleted so it could recreate them for your application. If it is not asking then it must think you are still in the 30 day evaluation period. In that case set you computers date forward 31 days, perform a rebuild which then asks you to enter the keys, and then set the date back.

Hi Phil,

I removed all the previous releases of krypton.
Each time I compile or I run my krypton based application I am asked for the serial key witch I enter.

May be I have to remove all the krypton entries from the registry.
I tried also to set the computer's date 31 days forward, entered the serial key and put back the date. Still not working correctly.

I apologize for taking so long to resolve your issue. It really should not be this difficult to get a serial key working. It sounds like you are correctly getting the dialog box for the key to be entered. Once entered it should not show that dialog again because the .lic file is then created. I can only think that the serial key you are entering is not valid. I cannot work out which customer you are from your handle name!

Please send me an email at phil.wright@componentfactory.com with the name you used at purchase and I will send you a new serial key that will certainly work.

Just use the following steps...

1 - Uninstall Krypton
2 - Delete all ComponentFactory.Krypton.*.dll
3 - Install Krypton
4 - Compile your application, enter the serial key when prompted

If you are still within the 30 day evaluation period then you will not get a dialog box prompting for the serial key at step 4. In that case continue with...

5 - Set clock forward 30 days
6 - Compile your application, enter the serial key when prompted
7 - Set clock back to todays date
