How can other users use my program?

Postby MiladShkoh » Tue Jul 17, 2012 11:48 am

Hello,

First of all I would like to thank Component Factory for their great software! And the best thing it is free :D . Anyway im new to this forum and to the software so I would like to thank everyone contributing to my thread :) and those helping the others in this great community. So let me explain my problem, I have created a little "Hello world" app using the Krypton Form Project just to test the different features. Once I finished testing all the features I published my program and tried to see if it worked on my other laptop , but it didn't :? . When I doubled clicked on the program I got an error message and a notepad window opened, it was stating that it was missing the Krypton files which are located in Users/Appication files..... So does this mean that my users need to have the krypton suite installed on their computers to use my program? :?:
If not how can I resolve this problem :?:

[EDIT] +
I am using Visual Studio 2010, and the programming language is Visual Basic...
Windows 7 64 bit
Thank you & Kind regards.

you need to distribute file ComponentFactory.Krypton.Toolkit.dll with your application.

How can I distribute the file? The project I am planning on is not a program with an installer more of a portable app.

Kind regards

in your project explorer in VS expand the 'references' folder, select the krypton dll, in the properties palette change 'copy local' from false to true. Build project.

Done like dinner.

Which krypton dll should I choose and where is the dll? In C,Programm File, Component Factory, bin ..? There or elsewhere?

Thanks for replying.

Kind regards Milad.

EDIT#

PS: I right clicked my project and choose properties, then I went into the References tab and choose the "Add" Button. I did it this way because I didn't have the references folder...

1)Find the Reference folder in your Solution
2)Find the toolkits dll and select it
3)Go to the property panel
4)Find [Copy to Local](my VS is not in English, maybe the translation is not right), make it TURE;

Disable layout and drawing on panels that are not visible. Also look at SuspendLayout and Resumelayout.
Good luck.
