Since the turn of the year I have been very busy dealing with a host of customer support requests. For some unknown reason it seems everyone decided to wait until the new year and then email me at the same time. Hence some of you might have assumed I had gone into hiding because of no blog postings. Now that I have caught up with the backlog we should be back to business as usual.
I’ve been able to restart work on the KryptonMonthCalendar and have it up and working as a standalone control although with limited functionality at the moment. Here is a picture of the current state…

You can use the mouse or keyboard to select a continuous date range and use the previous/next buttons to shift the displayed months forwards and backwards. Next I intend adding the ability to define dates that need to be shown in bold. This is something you can do with the standard month calendar as well so I guess many people will want the same ability in the Krypton version.

From a customer who checks your site every day for news (even though I have the RSS feed) its good to see you’re back developing new stuff.

Glad to have you “back” and the calendar is looking great. Would it be possible to combine selected cells into a single wider (or taller) cell when they are adjacent? I would envision this as a property that could be set.

I think like Chris

Hi Phil,
I love how you keep us involved in the progress of your developments… The Toolkit is such a nice piece of components that I’m sure many developers follow your blog with impatience to see the next screenshot :) So for me it’s always nice to see a new post coming, thanks for that!
About your next feature (dates in bold), I guess that with the flexibility of the toolkit it would be great to be able to style display of different collections of dates. Each collection could have its own styles defined (bold, font color, bgcolor, border, etc…). I know throwing ideas is an easy thing, so you probably envisioned many nice features to add so far… Any insight into what will the final control support for the first release? (if you know it yet)….
Thanks!
Mike

I second Mike’s suggestion for style based options of how the dates are rendered and allowing the calendar to render specific dates in different formats at the same time.
