Strictly speaking there is no need for a CheckBox  item in the KryptonContextMenu, as you can use a regular menu item and just set the CheckState to achieve the same functionality. But I suspect there are times when it makes it simpler for the user to understand what is required of them.

Faced with a conventional CheckBox it is immediately obvious they can use it to alter the checked state. It is also obvious that clicking the option will not automatically close the context menu. See for yourself…

The KryptonContextMenuCheckBox has all the properties you would expect, such as Checked, CheckState, Enabled, AutoCheck and AutoClose. Although not the kind of item you would use very often it is handy to have it in the toolkit just in case.

The new KryptonContextMenuLinkLabel item allows the display of hyperlinks within a KryptonContextMenu. This might not sound like a very useful feature but I think it has some good practical uses. Here you can see one added as the last item in the menu definition…

Using a hyperlink gives the user a clue that clicking the item will bring up a web page. So when they press the item they are not surprised to see Internet Explorer fire up and take them to a web page. The only alternative would be a standard looking menu item, but that does not convey the hyperlink nature of the item from its appearance.

Krypton 2.7.1 Released

I was hoping to avoid the need for a maintenance release this time around but it was not to be. The initial release has a nasty exception that occurs when showing a KryptonContextMenu when the OS is setup to show sub menus immediately.

Krypton 2.6.9 Beta Release

The Beta is feature complete but will have additional bugs fixed before the full release. One bug that was reported after this build is the right-click of a KryptonButton causes the button to stop working correctly. But apart from that you should report any other problem you encounter on the Beta forum. I have renamed the CTP forum to be called Beta to reflect the new release.
