The OneNote style of tab shape has been added.

Here is an example of the new style for tabs at the top of the control.

You can of course change the tabs to appear against any of the four control edges, something I forgot to show in previous blog entries. Just to prove it here they are on the left edge.

You can alter the item orientation so that the text and images in the tab are always showing in a fixed direction. So you might want the left edge tabs to show in the following way.

At the moment I am concerned with getting the border drawing and sizing correct. Once all the different tab shapes are added I will finalize the color styling so that you get good feedback when hot tracking etc. So don’t worry that they are not using the pastel colors you are familiar with in OneNote itself. That will come a little later.

It might seem to have taken quite a while to add some simple shapes but remember that they have to work correctly with right to left systems, as well as with all the different item and bar orientations. Checking all the combinations adds time to the development effort. But at least you know you have lots of flexibility in using them as well as knowing they work correctly for applications that target international customers.
